Week One of The Shift Shop Complete!

I have officially completed one week of the latest program by Beachbody called The Shift Shop!  I will tell you, I consider myself at an advanced level in fitness and these workouts are super challenging.  The cool part is though, that any fitness level can do this program.  Like every Beachbody program, there is someone modifying the movements during the workouts.  I am not afraid or ashamed to admit I have to use that modifier myself!  It just means I now have a goal to master the moves! I am excited to take it into week two and see if I have made any improvements in my speed, agility and strength.  These workouts alternate each day between cardio and strength training.  The cardio focuses on intervals, speed, agility and conditioning.  I am left drenched in sweat and shaking like a leaf afterwards!  The strength training is challenging EVERY SINGLE muscle group in my body I swear it!   Here’s a more detailed look at the SHIFT SHOP  workouts: Speed :25   Jumpstart your cardio

Take Care of Yourself First

Have you ever been on an airplane and watched the safety video or demonstration?  They always tell you, in the event that the masks drop down into the cabin, to first put on your own oxygen mask, and then help others put their masks on.  They say this because if you run out of oxygen, you won't have the ability to help anyone, not even yourself. Life works the same way a lot of the time.  Many of us spend countless hours focusing on everyone around us, with very little focus on ourselves.  Think about how much more we can give to those people in our lives when we have more energy, more patience, more endurance and a better mood.  Take care of your body, your mind and your soul.  Today, I want you to begin to fill your own cup, so that you will have something to pour for others. What are you going to do to fill your cup ?

Today is a new day. A fresh start. Whatever you want it to be, you can decide! Don't let yesterday be an excuse to get off track today, each day is a new chance to start fresh.  And each time you decide to take a step in the right direction, that is one step closer than you were yesterday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend.  We enjoyed ours as we got to see our competitors show off all of their hard work.  Then we celebrated in style with a small cookout! Chicken Crust Pizza

Have you been craving pizza, but don't want all the carbs and fat? Try making a pizza crust out of ground chicken! Here is what you will need:   INGREDIENTS: 1 lb ground chicken Eggs Marinara 1/2-1 cup of fat free mozzarella 1/4 cup of reduced fat Parmesan cheese Turkey pepperoni (or toppings of your choice) 1 tablespoon of onion powder 1 tablespoon of garlic salt 2 tablespoons of Italian seasoning Parchment paper Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. In a bowl, mix the ground chicken, seasonings, Parmesan cheese and eggs.  You can use a whole egg, or two egg whites only.  It is up to you.  You can also add in 1/8 a cup of the fat free mozzarella if you like a cheesy crust. Once the mixture is combined well, place it onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Then, place another piece of parchment paper on top and begin pressing the chicken into the shape of the pizza crust.  The trick to this is to press it as thin and evenly spread as you can w

I'm curious... Sexy Shoulder Workout

Warm up x 5 min prior to weight training.  Warm shoulders up with internal and external rotation.  The lower your reps, the heavier your weight should be. 7 Day Butts and Guts Boot-Camp!

I may be pregnant, but that doesn't stop me from envisioning my future goals and dreams! I know what this body is capable of and if I got my abs back after having one child, I'll do it again!! Until then, I will continue to focus on helping others reach their goals! Starting next Monday I am opening up a free 7 day butts and guts boot-camp. Time Freedom

Do you have control of your time? Three years ago I was giving a lot of my time to build someone else's dream.  I was working 12 hour shifts for a large hospital.  I was leaving for work before my daughter woke up and getting home at her bedtime.   I was giving someone else my time on holidays and weekends, and  I was TIRED of it. Skinny fat to FIT and HEALTHY!

On the left I had little to no muscle. My daily nutrition plan consisted of: . 🔷 Skinny Starbucks latte and an apple for breakfast.  🔶 Salad with chicken and a  Diet Coke for lunch. 🔷 Rice cakes and cottage cheese for dinner.  . At the time I had no idea how to eat to be healthy and fit. I just knew I wanted to fit in a size zero and would do WHATEVER it took to stay there. Eating that little calories would lead to binging and then purging. Gosh, it's tough to share that, but I hope that this helps someone!!!  . Thankfully I learned how to sculpt my body and get that fit look! I learned all about portion control nutrition and how to properly FUEL my body for health and physical fitness. I stopped caring what the scale or my jean size was. I learned to love my body for what it was! I learned to love the process of changing it to strong and healthy!! I started to LOVE what I saw in the mirror! Did it happen over night? No.  . But it started with one choice. The choice to make


EASY PALEO TURKEY TACO SALAD Ingredients: 2 lbs ground turkey 2 teaspoons  Chili Powder 1 teaspoon  Ground Cumin 1 teaspoon Ground Turmeric 1 teaspoon  Onion Powder 1 teaspoon  Sea Salt ½ teaspoon  Ground Black Pepper Pinch  Cayenne Pepper 1 bunch green butter lettuce, chopped 1 small bunch red leaf lettuce, chopped 2 handfuls baby spinach 1 10 oz container of grape tomatoes, sliced 2 avocados, diced Chunky salsa to serve Directions: Preheat your skillet to just above medium heat. Add the ground turkey and brown until cooked through. Add in the seasonings and stir well. In a large salad bowl layer the butter lettuce, red leaf lettuce, baby spinach, ground turkey, and grape tomatoes. Serve with salsa and diced avocado. Options: Try serving this topped with sliced black olives or, if you do dairy, try a sprinkle of your favorite shredded cheese.
